Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active
registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years RN experience
required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not
be considered. Provide specialized nursing care in a stepdown unit
environment focused on patients requiring close monitoring after
critical care. This contract position is based in Blue Springs, MO,
offering a demanding yet rewarding clinical experience involving
advanced patient care and cardiovascular, neurological, and
respiratory management. Qualifications and Desired Experience: -
Minimum 2 years of RN experience; prior charge nurse and teaching
hospital experience preferred - Accepting first-time stepdown
nurses - Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS - Skilled in
MS/Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, ER Holding,
PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown units - Proficient in cardiac monitoring,
emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management -
Experience with post-cardiac care, IV insulin protocols, feeding
tube management, hemodialysis, and central line care - Knowledge of
heparin protocols, cardiac drip management, PCA, procedural
sedation, and medication titration - Competent in neurological
care, orthopedics, wound care, respiratory devices including
tracheostomy management - Able to adhere to isolation precautions
and wound vac management - Flexible to float within multiple units
or departments as needed Responsibilities and Duties: - Provide
high-level nursing care to patients transitioning from acute care
settings - Monitor cardiac and neurological status while responding
promptly to emergencies - Administer medications and IV therapies
per protocol accurately - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
and participate in charge and teaching roles where applicable -
Maintain compliance with facility standards and infection control
procedures - Fulfill weekend and holiday shifts with a requirement
of 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule Schedule and Shift
Information: - Night shifts, 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) - Minimum of
3 shifts every 13 weeks guaranteed - Shift cancellation policy
