Employment Type: Full-Time Department: Emergency Services About the
Facility A hospital in the Kansas City metro area is seeking an
experienced Nurse Manager – Emergency Department . The facility
offers comprehensive emergency and specialty services including
stroke and chest pain accreditation, women’s and children’s
services, Level III NICU, maternal fetal medicine, and multiple
emergency care access points including pediatric and freestanding
ERs. Position Summary Under the direction of the Director of
Emergency Services and hospital nursing leadership, the Nurse
Manager provides operational and clinical leadership for the
Emergency Department. The Manager ensures high-quality,
patient-centered care through oversight of daily department
operations, staffing, clinical standards, and team performance.
This role holds staff accountable for quality metrics and clinical
outcomes aligned with organizational objectives. Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of a high-volume Emergency Department.
Ensure appropriate staffing and labor management based on patient
acuity and census. Monitor and evaluate nursing care delivery in
accordance with policies and evidence-based standards. Drive
quality improvement initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance.
Support staff development, performance management, and retention
strategies. Collaborate with hospital leadership to meet
operational and financial goals. Promote a culture of patient
safety, accountability, and service excellence. Manage departmental
budget, supplies, and resource utilization. Department Overview
Trauma Level: II ED Volume: ~100 patients per day ED Beds: 24 main
beds 12 hallway beds FTEs Overseen: Approximately 90 Additional
Departments: ED only Reports To: ED Director / Hospital Nursing
Leadership Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years recent (within
the last year) acute care leadership experience in the Emergency
Department . Charge Nurse experience in a high-acuity ED may be
considered; Manager-level experience strongly preferred. Experience
in high-volume, high-acuity facilities required. Graduate of an
accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred or actively pursuing
(completion within 2 years of hire). Current RN license (state of
practice or compact license). Certifications Required (within 90
days of hire): ACLS TNCC NIH Stroke Scale ENPC or PALS Compensation
Salary Range: $44.27 – $61.99 per hour (Compensation heavily based
on years of experience. Candidates near the top of the range
typically have 15–20 years of leadership experience at
Manager/Director level.) Sign-On Bonus: $25,000 (2-year commitment
