Job Description:
Ascension is seeking a dedicated Polysomnographic Technologist
to join our faith-based healthcare organization. In this role, you
will be integral in enhancing patient care through the specialized
study of sleep disorders. This position involves conducting sleep
studies, monitoring patient safety, and collaborating with the
sleep disorder team to provide personalized, innovative care. Our
ideal candidate is technically skilled, compassionate, and
committed to advancing their knowledge in sleep medicine. Perform
comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, including the
use of nocturnal polysomnography, CPAP titration, and portable
monitoring devices. Prepare and calibrate equipment required for
testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments, if
necessary. Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted
published standards. Gather, analyze, and record patients'
biological, physiological, and environmental information.
Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures, alleviate
fears, and ensure cooperation during testing. Adhere to safety,
infection control, and procedural protocols. Collaborate with
physicians and healthcare team members to facilitate clinical
trials and research in sleep disorders. Proficient in operating
polysomnographic equipment. Strong understanding of sleep disorder
sciences. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving
abilities. Ability to work nights, weekends, and flexible hours.
