Overview
The Senior Business Analyst represents operations / business interests, partnering with business users, stakeholders, and executives to gather and analyze detailed business requirements, create business cases, and develop business process models. The Analyst will identify and evaluate options that meet business needs, support the management and realization of benefits to the business, be aware of budget, resource, and time constraints, evaluate requirements against business needs, and negotiate conflicts between Stakeholders. The Analyst balances strategies against what is functionally, technologically, and financially feasible, and conducts meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings. The Business Analyst leads with a "business" mindset over an "IT" mindset, and is an advocate and voice for the entirety of business requirements. The Analyst is a bridge between the Business users, Operational and Business Executives, and/or Clinical end users (Pharmacists) and the Technical team (Developers and Testers, primarily).

Position Location
This is a remote-based position within the Continental US.

Responsibilities


  • Define and document company business functions and processes.
  • Consult with functional unit management and personnel to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access
  • Act as a liaison between departmental end-users and IT in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of systems in support of business processes.
  • Analyze the feasibility of, and develop requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensure the system design fits the needs of the users.
  • Track and fully document changes for functional and business specifications; write detailed universally understood procedures for permanent records and for use in training.
  • Create visually appealing / accurate wireframes and application mock-ups.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization.
  • Plan, organize and conducts business process improvement projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.
  • Participates in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality and releases.
  • Provide end-user support at all levels.
  • Collaborate with vendors and IT personnel to resolve issues.
  • Gather requirements and create functional documentation.
  • Document current and future state business processes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of organizational functions to identify gaps and areas of improvement.
  • Work with cross functional teams and internal users to resolve issues.
  • Lead though influence to get work done across programs, business units and company-wide initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally to solve problems and recommend changes to technology solutions and/or business processes.
  • Collaborate with the demand management team and other external departments to lead the assessment and selection of technology solutions and vendors, including the documentation and management of proposal requests.
  • Understand project objectives and benefits, documents the business case and project charter, including scope, resources, and initial budget. Share technical and administrative knowledge to others.
  • Drive project success via formal requirements definition, solution design facilitation, and work with business and technical teams to build detailed test scripts.
  • Lead and manage testing on projects, including functional, integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Leverage several project management methodologies to ensure predictable project success.
  • Lead projects and/or system enhancements.
  • Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.
  • Comply with Maxor's Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor's Compliance Program
  • Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of work-related experience, or Master's degree and 1 year of work-related experience

    • 5+ years directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position
    • 5+ years PBM, preferred.
    • 5+ years developing Detailed Reports / Presentations / Requirements
    • 5+ years developing Use Case & Test scenarios, desired.


      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Deep understanding of Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) business processes including Claims Adjudication, data related processes (e.g. Eligibility data, Provider data, Drug data, Formulary data, Drug Utilization reviews) and their interconnections
      • Deep understanding of related PBM standards from NCPDP. Strong plus if candidate also understands CMS regulations related to Medicare & state Medicaid Pharmacy programs.
      • PBM domain expertise and strategic thinking to shape the roadmap and enhance PBM strategic initiatives.
      • Proven ability to capture requirements, document requirements, and manage requirements using requirements management tools such as Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word formats. Ability to synthesize requirements into user stories, decision tables, or another pertinent format.
      • Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.
      • Excellent written communication skills to deliver technical specifications and presentations.
      • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills in order to understand how business works.
      • Ability to influence stakeholders and find acceptable solutions.
      • Demonstrated expertise in user testing methodologies and successful project management.
      • A proven track record of consistently meeting commitments and deadlines.
      • Excellent skills in planning, organizing, and managing time effectively.
      • Experience leading, developing and contributing to high-performing teams.
      • A history of leading and supporting successful projects
      • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies
      • Ability to drive change and adapt to evolving environments.
